An Act Creating the Municipality of Antipas in the Province of North Cotabato
Section 1. Subject to the approval of the majority of the votes cast in a plebiscite to be held in the Municipality of Matalam, Province of North Cotabato, the barangays of Antipas, Camutan, Dolores, Kiyab, Luhong, Magsaysay, Malangag, Malatab, and New Pontevedra, are hereby separated from said municipality and constituted into a distinct and independent municipality in the same province to be known as the Municipality of Antipas, with its seat of government in the present site of Barangay Antipas.
Section 2. The Municipality of Antipas shall be bounded as follows:
"The point of origin is the junction of Kadauman Creek and Arakan River, point (1); thence follow the upstream course of Arakan River to a common point boundary of Lot Nos. 2, 36 and 289, all of Pls-826, Block I at the southern bank of said river, point (2); thence southwesterly following the lot road to its intersection with another lot road which is a common border of Lot Nos. 10, 11, 23 and 24 all of Pls-829, Block I, point (3); thence southeasterly following the said lot road to its intersection with Malire Creek, point (4); thence southeasterly following the course of said creek to its junction with Camutan Creek, point (5); thence follow the upstream course of Camutan Creek at an approximate distance of 10 kilometers to the western corners of Lot Nos. 852 and 1253 all of Pls-79 adjoining the said creek, point (6); thence follow the southern boundary line of Pls-79 Case 2 in a generally southwesterly direction to a common southwestern corner monument of Lot Nos. 488 and 292 all of Pls-79 Case 2, a point on the amended boundary line of the Municipalities of Matalam and President Roxas (Please refer to Provincial Board Resolution No. 171 s-1970), point (7); thence northerly following the said amended boundary in an imaginary straight line to the junction of Dalapuan River and Kinilid Creek, point (8); thence still following the said amended boundary northward up to the junction of Kadauman Creek and Arakan River, the point of origin."
Section 3. After the approval of the creation of such municipality in the plebiscite, the mayor, vice mayor and members of the Sangguniang Bayan of the New Municipality of Antipas shall be appointed by the President (Prime Minister) of the Philippines, and shall hold office at the pleasure of the President (Prime Minister), or until their successors shall have been elected in the next general elections for local officials.
Section 4. The Commission on Elections shall conduct and supervise the plebiscite mentioned in Section one hereof, which shall be held within one hundred twenty (120) days from the approval of this Act. The expenses for such plebiscite shall be paid out of appropriations provided for by the local government unit concerned.
Section 5. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
