AN ACT PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF AN ASSISTANT CLERK OF THE COURT OF LAND REGISTRATION.
By authority of the United States, be it enacted by the Philippine Commission, that:
Section 1. The Civil Governor, with the advice and consent of the Commission, is hereby authorized to appoint an assistant clerk of the Court of Land Registration. He shall receive compensation at the rate of two thousand dollars, money of the United States, per annum, and shall be subject to removal in the manner provided in section three of Act Numbered Four hundred and ninety-six, and a vacancy in his office shall be filled in the manner in that section provided. In case of the death or disability of the clerk, the assistant clerk shall perform the duties of clerk until the vacancy is filled or the disability is removed.1aшphi1 The assistant clerk shall act as deputy to the clerk of the court, and shall perform such other duties as shall be assigned hum by the judges of the court or by the clerk of the court, and shall be subject to the general supervision and control of the clerk of the court.
Section 2. The last sentence of section ten of The Land Registration Act, reading as follows: "In case of the death or disability of the clerk of the Court of Land Registration, the Register of Deeds for the city of Manila shall perform the duties of the clerk until the vacancy is filled or the disability is removed," is hereby repealed.
Section 3. The public good requiring the speedy enactment of this bill, the passage of the same is hereby expedited in accordance with section two of "An Act prescribing the order of procedure by the Commission in the enactment of laws," passed September twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred.
Section 4. This act shall take effect on its passage.
