PROCLAMATION NO. 2219

TRANSFERRING TO THE MINISTRY OF HUMAN SETTLEMENTS THE ADMINISTRATION AND CONTROL OVER CERTAIN PARCELS OF LAND OF THE PUBLIC DOMAIN AT GUADALUPE, MAKATI, METRO MANILA

WHEREAS, it is the declared policy of the government to foster the growth and renewal of our communities, both rural and urban, in an integrative manner that promotes optimum land use, adequate shelter, environmental protection, utilization of appropriate technology and national interdependence among self-reliant communities, towards the fullest development of man as a civic person and human being;

WHEREAS, on 12 July 1957, Presidential Proclamation No. 423 designated several parcels of land located in Guadalupe, Makati, Metro Manila, as a military reservation, under the administration of the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines; and

WHEREAS, the transfer of administration and control of a portion of the military reservation is essential to attain the aforementioned objectives of the Government;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby reserve for housing projects under the Administration and control of the MHS, those certain parcels of land of the public domain situated at Guadalupe, Makati, Metro Manila and all the improvements thereon, which parcels of land are more particularly described as follows:

A parcel of land being a portion of parcel 4, Psu-2031, (LRC) Rec. No. _______, situated in Bo. Guadalupe, Municipality of Makati, Metro Manila. Bounded on the North and Northwest by points 151 to 161 to 1 to 133, by Jose P. Rizal Street on the South, point 133 to 149, by portion of parcel 4, Psu-2031 and on the West points 149-151 by San Jose Creek. Beginning at a point marked “1” being S. 84 deg. 17'E., 122.70 m. from BBM No. 6 Makati Cad. 571-D.

The Ministry of Human Settlements shall take immediate possession, administration and control of the parcels of Public land above described; Provided, That the Ministry shall develop the same particularly for housing purposes.

Any proclamation, decree or executive order inconsistent herewith is hereby revoked or modified accordingly.
