AN ACT UPGRADING THE DR. CATALINO GALLEGO NAVA PROVINCIAL HOSPITAL IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF JORDAN, PROVINCE OF GUIMARAS, INTO A LEVEL II HOSPITAL, RENAMING IT AS THE DR. CATALINO GALLEGO NAVA MEDICAL CENTER, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

Section 1. The Dr. Catalino Gallego Nava Provincial Hospital in the Municipality of Jordan, Province of Guimaras is hereby upgraded into a Level II hospital and renamed as the Dr. Catalino Gallego Nava Medical Center.

Section 2. The authorized bed capacity of the Dr. Catalino Gallego Nava Medical Center shall be increased from twenty-five (25) to two hundred (200) beds. Any future increase in bed capacity shall be consistent with the hospital development plan that shall be prepared by the Chief of Hospital of the Dr. Catalino Gallego Nava Medical Center, and submitted to the Department of Health.ℒαwρhi৷

Section 3. The existing professional health care services and facilities of the Dr. Catalino Gallego Nava Medical Center shall also be upgraded to conform with and be commensurate to its upgrading as a Level II hospital and the increase of bed capacity as provided for in Sections 1 and 2 hereof.

Section 4. The existing workforce of the Dr. Catalino Gallego Nava Medical Center, which includes doctors, nurse, and support personnel, shall be increased accordingly.

Section 5. The Provincial Government of Guimaras shall provide the necessary funds to cover the maintenance and operating expenses of the Dr. Catalino Gallego Nava Medical Center. It shall also appropriate funds for the additional human resource complement to support the increase in bed capacity and the corresponding upgrading of its service facilities and professional healthcare services.

Section 6. The Secretary of Health shall include in the Department's subsidy program, support for the capital outlay requirements of the Dr. Catalino Gallego Nava Medical Center.

Section 7. If any provision or part of this Act is declared unconstitutional, the remaining parts or provisions not affected shall remain in full force and effect.

Section 8. All laws, executive orders, issuances and rules and regulations inconsistent with this Act are hereby repealed or modified accordingly.

Section 9. This Act shall take effect after fifteen (15) days following its publication in the Official Gazette or in a national newspaper of general circulation.
