REPUBLIC ACT NO. 9219 August 08, 2003

AN ACT CONSTITUTING THE SECOND CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT IN THE PROVINCE OF DAVAO DEL SUR INTO A SEPARATE DISTRICT ENGINEERING OFFICE AND PROVIDING FUNDS THEREFOR

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

Section 1. The second congressional district in the Province of Davao del Sur is hereby constituted into a separate highway engineering district to be known as the Second Highway Engineering District of the Province of Davao del Sur. It shall be composed of the Municipalities of Supol, Kiblawan, Malalag, Sta. Mariam Malita, Don Marcelino, Jose Abad Santos and Sarangani (island-municipality).

Section 2. The office of the said highway engineering district shall be located in the Municipality of Malita and shall have a highway district engineer and such other personnel as may be necessary who shall be appointed in accordance with existing laws and regulations.

Section 3. The Secretary of the Department of Public Works and Highways shall include in its program the funding requirements for the operationalization of the Second Highway Engineering District of Davao del Sur in the year following its enactment into law and thereafter.

Section 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
