REPUBLIC ACT NO. 9066 April 05, 2001
AN ACT RECONSTITUTING THE DISTRICT ENGINEERING OFFICES IN THE PROVINCE OF MISAMIS ORIENTAL AND THE CITY OF CAGAYAN DE ORO AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:
Section 1. The district engineering office in the Province of Misamis Oriental and the City of Cagayan de Oro shall be reconstituted as follows: (1) the sub-district engineering office located in Gingoog City shall be upgraded into a regular district engineering office and shall be known as the First District Engineering Office; (2) the Misamis Oriental District Engineering Office shall be relocated from Cagayan de Oro City to the Municipality of El Salvador and shall be known as the Second District Engineering Office; and (3) the sub-district engineering office in Cagayan de Oro City shall likewise be upgraded into a regular district engineering office and shall be known as the Cagayan de Oro City District Engineering Office.
Section 2. The First District Engineering Office shall comprise the City of Gingoog and the municipalities of Magsaysay, Medina, Talisayan, Balingoan, Kinoguitan, Sugbongcogon, Binuangan, Lagonglong, Salay and Balingasag. While the Second District Engineering Office shall comprise the municipalities of Jasaan, Claveria, Villanueva, Tagoloan, Opol, El Salvador, Alubijid, Laguindingan, Gitagum, Libertad, Initao, Naawan, Manticao and Lugait. The Cagayan de Oro City District Engineering Office shall comprise the City of Cagayan de Oro.
Section 3. The personnel, resources and equipment of the existing Misamis Oriental District Engineering Office shall be divided between the two (2) district engineering offices in accordance with existing laws and regulations; while the Cagayan de Oro District Engineering Office shall retain the existing personnel, resources and equipment of the sub-engineering office.
Section 4. The amount necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act shall be included in the General Appropriations Act of the year following its enactment into law and thereafter.
Section 5. The Secretary of Public Works and Highways shall issue the necessary rules and regulations for the effective implementation of this Act.
Section 6. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.

This Act which originated in the House of Representatives was finally passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate on October 16, 2001 and December 11, 2001, respectively.
