[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 8889, August 22, 2000 ]
AN ACT ESTABLISHING THE SALIHID NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL IN BARANGAY SALIHID, MUNICIPALITY OF BAROTAC NUEVO, PROVINCE OF ILOILO, APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:
Section 1. There shall be established under the supervision of the Department of Education, Culture and Sports, a national high school in Barangay Salihid, Municipality of Barotac Nuevo, Province of Iloilo, to be known as the Salihid National High School.
Section 2. The Department of Education, Culture and Sports shall issue such rules and regulations as may be necessary to carry out the purposes of this Act.
Section 3. The amount necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act of the year following its enactment into law and thereafter.
Section 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.

This Act which originated in the House of Representatives was finally passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate on December 8, 1998 and May 22, 2000, respectively.
