[ REPUBLIC ACT No. 8030, June 05, 1995 ]

AN ACT ALTERING SUBSTANTIALLY THE BOUNDARIES AND/OR TRANSFERRING THE TERRITORIAL JURISDICTION OF BARANGAY POPOLON FROM THE MUNICIPALITY OF BONGABON TO THE CITY OF PALAYAN, PROVINCE OF NUEVA ECIJA, EXERCISING ADMINISTRATIVE CONTROL AND SUPERVISION OVER THE SAID BARANGAY AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

Section 1. The Congress of the Philippines hereby alters substantially the boundaries of the Municipality of Bongabon and the City of Palayan in the Province of Nueva Ecija, by transferring the territory of Barangay Popolon from the Municipality of Bongabon to the City of Palayan for economic convenience and governance.

Section 2. The City of Palayan shall acquire territorial jurisdiction and administrative control and supervision over the said barangay upon the approval of this Act by a majority of the votes cast in the plebiscite called for such purpose.

Section 3. The chairman of the Commission on Elections is hereby mandated to conduct a plebiscite in the abovementioned local government units directly affected within one hundred twenty (120) days immediately after the effectivity of this Act.

Section 4. This Act shall take effect immediately upon its approval.1aшphi1

Lapsed into law on June 5, 1995 without the President's signature, pursuant to Sec. 27(1), Article VI of the Constitution.
