[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 7846, December 30, 1994 ]
AN ACT REQUIRING COMPULSORY IMMUNIZATION AGAINST HEPATITIS-B FOR INFANTS AND CHILDREN BELOW EIGHT (8) YEARS OLD, AMENDING FOR THE PURPOSE PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 996, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:
Section 1. Section 2 of Presidential Decree No. 996, is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 2. Scope. - Basic immunization services shall include: (a) BCG Vaccination against tuberculosis; (b) Inoculation against diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis; (c) Oral poliomyelitis immunization; (d) Protection against measles; (e) Immunization against rubella; (f) Immunization against Hepatitis-B; (g) such other basic immunization services for infants and children below eight years of age as determined by the Secretary of Health in a department circular: Provided, That newborn infants of women with Hepatitis-B shall be given immunization against Hepatitis-B within twenty-four (24) hours after birth."
Section 2. The amount necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act shall be included in the General Appropriations Act of the year following its enactment into law and thereafter.
Section 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval and completion of its publication in at least two (2) newspapers of general circulation.1a⍵⍴h!1
