[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 7680, February 23, 1994 ]

AN ACT DECLARING AUGUST SIX OF EVERY YEAR A SPECIAL NONWORKING PUBLIC HOLIDAY IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF PALO, PROVINCE OF LEYTE, TO BE KNOWN AS THE "PALO DAY"

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

Section 1. The sixth day of August of every year, being the annual town fiesta of Palo, Leyte, honoring its most holy patron, The Transfiguration of the Lord, is hereby declared a special nonworking public holiday in the Municipality of Palo, Province of Leyte, to be known as the "Palo Day."

Section 2. On August six of every year, the municipal officials of Palo, Leyte, shall lead appropriate and meaningful celebrations, activities and programs participated in by regional heads of departments and other government offices and their employees holding office in Palo, Leyte; civic, sports and other religious and nongovernmental organizations, and private companies doing business in Palo, Leyte.

Section 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.1a⍵⍴h!1
