[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 7338, April 01, 1992 ]

AN ACT CONVERTING THE LAGUNA SCHOOL OF ARTS AND TRADES IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF SANTA CRUZ, PROVINCE OF LAGUNA, INTO A COLLEGE TO BE KNOWN AS THE LAGUNA COLLEGE OF ARTS AND TRADES, APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

Section 1. The Laguna School of Arts and Trades in the Municipality of Santa Cruz, Province of Laguna, is hereby converted into a national college of arts and trades, to be known as the Laguna College of Arts and Trades.1âшphi1

Section 2. The properties, records, equipment, facilities, assets and liabilities of the Laguna School of Arts and Trades shall be transferred to the Laguna College of Arts and Trades.  Subject to Civil Service Laws, all personnel of the Laguna School of Arts and Trades shall be absorbed by the Laguna College of Arts and Trades.

In addition to the current appropriations of the Laguna School of Arts and Trades, the amount needed to carry out the provisions of this Act shall be included in the General Appropriations Act of the year following its enactment into law and thereafter.

Section 3. The Department of Education, Culture and Sports shall take the necessary steps for the immediate implementation of this Act.

Section 4. All laws, decrees and orders inconsistent with any provision of this Act are hereby repealed or modified accordingly.

Section 5. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
