[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 6629, October 23, 1972 ]

AN ACT ESTABLISHING AN AGRO-INDUSTRIAL HIGH SCHOOL IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF BURAUEN, PROVINCE OF LEYTE, TO BE KNOWN AS BURAUEN AGRO-INDUSTRIAL HIGH SCHOOL, AND AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF FUNDS THEREFOR.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

Section 1. There shall be established, under the direct supervision of the Director of Vocational Education, an agro-industrial high school in the Municipality of Burauen, Province of Leyte, to be known as Burauen Agro-Industrial High School: Provided, however, That only a general education curriculum, with practical arts shall be offered in the first and second years, and the vocational education curriculum shall be offered in the third and fourth years: Provided, further, That the school shall offer short vocational courses for training in vocations needed in the locality which shall be open to elementary school graduates: Provided, finally, That the school shall open, as soon as feasible, two-year post secondary technical courses.  The site of the said school shall be determined by the Municipal Council of Burauen in consultation; with the Director of Vocational Education.

Section 2. The Director of Vocational Education shall issue such rules and regulations as may be necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act.1âшphi1

Section 3. The sum of two hundred thousand pesos is hereby authorized to be appropriated, out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the establishment, operation and maintenance of said school during the fiscal year nineteen hundred seventy-three.  Thereafter, the necessary funds needed for its operation and maintenance shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.

Section 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
