[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 6441, June 17, 1972 ]
AN ACT PROVIDING FOR SECURITY FROM REVERSION TO INACTIVE STATUS OF RESERVE OFFICERS OF THE ARMED FORCES OF THE PHILIPPINES WHO HAVE SERVED OR WILL HEREAFTER SERVE IN ANY CAMPAIGN OR OPERATION IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY IN COMPLIANCE WITH OUR TREATY OBLIGATIONS OR INTERNATIONAL COMMITMENTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:
Section 1. Title of this Act.—This Act shall be known as the "Security From Reversion Act".
Section 2. Reserve Officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines in the active service who served or: will henceforth serve in any campaign or operation in a foreign country in compliance with law shall be secured from reversion to inactive status, except upon their own request or for cause as may be adjudged by a court martial or by appropriate administrative bodies existing by provision of law in the Armed Forces of the Philippines: Provided, That the service of such officer in the foreign country shall not be less than twelve months: Provided, further, That in the case of the Philcag ands Philcom volunteers the period shall not be less than six months: Provided, further, That should an officer be wounded in action or contracts any disease or ailment that requires his recall to the Philippines, the period shall continue to be counted until he shall have been pronounced cured: And Provided, finally, That such services were rendered honorably.1âшphi1
Section 3. Effectivity.—This Act shall take effect immediately upon its approval.
