[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 5926, June 21, 1969 ]
AN ACT STANDARDIZING THE SALARIES OF ALL NATIONAL OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE GENERAL AUDITING OFFICE AND PROVIDING FUNDS THEREFOR.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:
Section 1. Any law to the contrary notwithstanding, the salaries of the Deputy Auditor General, Department Managers, General Counsel, Assistant Department Managers, Associate General Counsel, Chief Supervising Auditors, Division Auditors, Regional Supervising Auditors, Supervising Auditors and all others of equal rank in the General Auditing Office, are hereby adjusted as follows:

Provided, That the salaries of other officials and employees of the General Auditing Office not covered under the above provisions of this Act, except those whose salaries have already been fully adjusted under Republic Act Numbered Forty-one hundred fifty-seven are hereby adjusted in accordance with the following scale based on the actual adjusted salary at the time of the effectivity of this Act; P2,160 and above are adjusted by 48%: And Provided,finally, That no salary increase shall exceed that of his immediate superior.1âшphi1
Section 2. Such sums as may be necessary to carry out the purposes of this Act shall be paid out of any savings in the appropriations under the respective funds concerned provided under Republic Act Numbered 5482. Thereafter, such sum as may be necessary shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.
Section 3. Any law to the contrary notwithstanding, the beneficiaries of the salary increases provided for in this Act are not precluded from receiving general salary adjustments that may be provided for officials and employees in future General Appropriations Act.
Section 4. The officials and employees who are entitled to the salary adjustment under the provisions of this Act shall receive the adjustment herein provided for without the necessity of any new appointments, any provisions of law to the contrary notwithstanding.
Section 5. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
