[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 5474, June 21, 1969 ]
AN ACT MAKING IT UNLAWFUL FOR ANY PERSON, ASSOCIATION OR CORPORATION TO CATCH OR CAUSE TO BE CAUGHT, SELL, OFFER TO SELL, PURCHASE OR HAVE IN POSSESSION, ANY OF THE FISH SPECIES CALLED "IPON" DURING THE PERIOD STARTING FROM NOVEMBER OF EACH YEAR TO JANUARY OF THE SUCCEEDING YEAR, INCLUSIVE, FOR THE WHOLE PROVINCE OF ILOCOS NORTE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House, of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:
Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person, association or corporation to catch or cause to be caught, sell, offer to sell, purchase, or have in possession any of the fish species called "ipon" during the period starting from November of each year to January of the succeeding year, inclusive, for the whole Province of Ilocos Norte.
Section 2. Any violation of this Act shall be punished by a fine not exceeding five thousand pesos, or with imprisonment of not less than five years, or both such fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the court. If the violation is committed by an association or corporation, the criminal liability shall devolve upon the president, director, manager or managing partner responsible thereof.
Section 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.1a⍵⍴h!1
