REPUBLIC ACT No. 4175

An Act Providing for the Establishment of One Experimental and Breeding Station in Each Province of the Philippines Where There are No Existing Experimental and Breeding Stations, and Appropriating the Necessary Funds Therefor

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippine Congress Assembled:

Section 1. There shall be established one experimental and breeding station under the supervision of the Director of Animal Industry in each of the provinces of the Philippines, except in those provinces where there are existing experimental and breeding stations.

Section 2. There is hereby created a Committee of three to be composed of the Director of Animal Industry, as Chairman, the Dean, Department of Animal Husbandry, College of Agriculture, University of the Philippines, and a representative of private experimental and breeding stations in the Philippines as members who shall be appointed by the President and duly confirmed by the Commission on Appointments.1âшphi1 The Committee shall study and designate the place in each province where such experimental and breeding stations shall be established, which place must have an area of not less than fifteen hectares, and must be owned by either the national or provincial government.

Section 3. The Secretary of Agriculture and Natural Resources upon the recommendation of the Director of Animal Industry shall promulgate such rules and regulations as may be necessary to carry out the purpose of this Act.

Section 4. Such sum as may be necessary is hereby appropriated, out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the establishment, operation and maintenance of the said experimental and breeding stations during the fiscal year nineteen hundred sixty-five: Provided, That each station in each province shall be entitled to twenty-five thousand pesos except in those provinces where there are already existing experimental and breeding stations. Thereafter, such sums as may be needed for their operation and maintenance shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.

Section 5. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
