REPUBLIC ACT No. 4117
An Act to Further Amend Section Ten of Republic Act Numbered Sixty-Five, as Amended, by Increasing the Monthly Pension Due the Widows and Minor Children or Indigent Parents of Deceased Veterans or Deceased Political Prisoners of World War II
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippine Congress Assembled:
Section 1. Section ten of Republic Act Numbered Sixty-five as amended, is further amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 10. Widows and minor children or indigent parents of the persons mentioned in Section one and two hereof who died during the war or, at any time thereafter, as a result of illness or injury contracted or sustained in line of duty or as a consequence of the performance of such duty, and of political prisoners who died in prison or were killed by the Japanese Armed Forces, except those who, for the same reason, are actually receiving a similar pension from other government funds, may be given a pension of one hundred pesos a month for each widow and ten pesos for each minor child below eighteen years of age, until the widow remarries or dies, and until the minor child lies, marries or reaches the age of eighteen or one hundred pesos for both indigent parents in equal shares with right of accretion."
Section 2. For carrying out the purpose of this Act, the amount of ten million pesos is hereby authorized to be appropriated out of the General Funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated.
Section 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
