REPUBLIC ACT No. 2718
An Act Amending Certain Sections of the "Judiciary Act of 1948" by Providing for an Additional Judge for the Ninth Judicial District, with Permanent Station in the Municipality of Baler, Sub-Province of Aurora
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippine Congress Assembled:
Section 1. The tenth paragraph of Section forty-nine of Republic Act Numbered Two hundred ninety-six, otherwise known as "The Judiciary Act of 1948," is amended to read as follows:
"The Ninth Judicial District, of the Province of Quezon, the Subprovince of Aurora and the Province of Camarines Norte;"
Section 2. The ninth paragraph of Section fifty of the same Act, as amended, is further amended to read as follows:
"Five judges shall be commissioned for the Ninth Judicial District. Three judges shall preside over the Courts of First Instance of Quezon and shall be known as judges of the first, second and third branches thereof, respectively; one judge shall preside over the Court of First Instance of Aurora, and one judge shall preside over the Court of First Instance of Camarines Norte."
Section 3. The tenth paragraph of Section fifty-two of the same Act, as amended, is further amended to read as follows:
"For the Ninth Judicial District, the two judges shall be stationed in the Municipality of Lucena, Province of Quezon; one judge shall be stationed in the Municipality of Gumaca, in the same province; one judge, in the Municipality of Baler, Subprovince of Aurora; and one judge, in the Municipality of Daet, Province of Camarines Norte."
Section 4. The seventh paragraph of Section fifty-four of the same Act, as amended, is further amended to read as follows:
"Ninth Judicial District: At Infanta, Province of Quezon, for the municipalities of Infanta and Polillo, on the first Tuesday of January and June of each year."
Section 5. Such sum as may be necessary to carry out the purpose of this Act is hereby appropriated out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated.
Section 6. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
