REPUBLIC ACT No. 2226
An Act Creating the Position of Sub-Provincial Assessor for the Sub-Province of Siquijor
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippine Congress Assembled:
Section 1. Act Numbered Thirty-one hundred forty-three, as amended by Republic Act Numbered Twelve hundred sixty-four, is further amended by inserting after section five-A thereof a new section which shall read as follows:
" Sec. 5-B. The sub-province shall have a sub-provincial assessor who, under the direction and supervision of the provincial assessor of Negros Oriental, shall perform the duties of assessor for the sub-province. The sub-provincial assessor shall be appointed by the President of the Philippines with the consent of the Commission on Appointments and shall receive a compensation of three thousand six hundred pesos per annum.
"Upon the appointment of the sub-provincial assessor, all assessment records for the sub-province shall be transferred to the office of the said sub-provincial assessor but official copies thereof shall likewise be kept at the office of the provincial assessor."
Section 2. The title of the said Act, as amended, is further amended to read as follows:
"An Act to Provide For the Election and Appointment of Certain Officials for the Sub-Province of Siquijor"
Section 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
