REPUBLIC ACT No. 1963
AN ACT TO PROVIDE ONE ADDITIONAL JUDGE FOR THE TENTH JUDICIAL DISTRICT TO PRESIDE OVER THE COURT OF FIRST INSTANCE OF CATANDUANES, WITH PERMANENT STATION IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF VIRAC, PROVINCE OF CATANDUANES, AMENDING FOR THE PURPOSE SECTIONS FIFTY, FIFTY-TWO AND FIFTY-FOUR OF "THE JUDICIARY ACT TO 1948."
Section 1. The tenth paragraph of section fifty of Republic Act Numbered Two hundred ninety-six, otherwise known as "The Judiciary Act of 1948," as amended, is further amended to read as follows:
"Eight judges shall be commissioned for the Tenth Judicial District. Three judges shall preside over the Courts of First Instance of Camarines Sur and Naga City and shall be known as judges of the first, second and third branches thereof, respectively; two judges shall preside over the Court of First Instance of Albay and shall be known as judges of the first and second branches thereof; one judge shall preside over the Court of First Instance of Catanduanes; one judge shall preside over the Court of First Instance of the Province of Sorsogon; and one judge shall preside over the Court of First Instance of Masbate."
Section 2. The eleventh paragraph of section fifty-two of the same Act, as amended, is further amended to read as follows:
"For the Tenth Judicial District, three judges shall be stationed in the City of Naga, Province of Camarines Sur; two judges, in the Municipality of Legaspi, Province of Albay; one judge in the Municipality of Virac, Province of Catanduanes; one judge, in the Municipality of Sorsogon, Province of Sorsogon; and one judge, in the Municipality of Masbate, Province of Masbate."
Section 3. The eighth paragraph of section fifty-four of the same Act is repealed.
Section 4. There is hereby appropriated, out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated, such sum as may be necessary to carry out the purposes of this Act.
Section 5. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
