[ REPUBLIC ACT NO. 648, June 14, 1951 ]

AN ACT CREATING THE SUBPROVINCE OF AURORA, WHICH SHALL COMPRISE THE MUNICIPALITIES OF BALER, CASIGURAN, DIPACULAO AND MARIA AURORA, PROVINCE OF QUEZON.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

Section 1. The municipalities of Baler, Casiguran, Dipaculao and Maria Aurora, and all the territories comprised therein, are constituted into a subprovince of Quezon to be known as the Subprovince of Aurora, with the seat of government in the Municipality of Baler.

Section 2. The provisions of sections twenty-one hundred thirty-seven, twenty-one hundred thirty-eight, twenty-one hundred thirty-nine, twenty-one hundred forty, twenty-one hundred forty-one, twenty-one hundred forty-two, and twenty-one hundred forty-three of the Administrative Code, as amended, shall apply to the Subprovince of Aurora.1a⍵⍴h!1

Section 3. The lieutenant-governor of the Subprovince of Aurora shall receive a compensation of three thousand pesos per annum.

Section 4. The first lieutenant-governor of the Subprovince of Aurora shall be appointed by the President of the Philippines, and shall hold office until his successor shall have been elected in the next general elections for provincial and municipal officials and shall have qualified to said office.

Section 5. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
