REPUBLIC ACT No. 202
An Act Amending Section One of Republic Act Numbered Thirty-Six, Continuing in Full Force Sections Two to Thirty-Eight Thereof, and Appropriating the Additional Sum of Six and One-Half Million Pesos to Carry Out the Purpose of the Said Act and for Other Purpose
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippine Congress Assembled:
Section 1. Section one of Republic Act Numbered Thirty-six, entitled "Census Act of nineteen hundred and forty-six," is amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 1. A census of the Philippines shall be taken not later than November first, nineteen hundred and forty-eight and the President shall, by executive order, proclaim any day selected for census-taking as Census Day, and from that time on the enumeration shall proceed on consecutive days from daylight to darkness, including Sundays and holidays, until completed: Provided, That the census of population shall be completed, proclaimed and published not later than December thirty-first, nineteen hundred and forty-eight."
Section 2. Sections two to thirty-eight of Republic Act Numbered Thirty-six are hereby continued in full force and operation.1aшphi1
Section 3. The sum of six and one-half million pesos, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated, in addition to the appropriation heretofore made under Republic Acts Numbered Thirty-six and One hundred and eighty-seven, to carry out the provisions of this Act.
Section 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
