PRESIDENTIAL DECREE No. 1124
AMENDING PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 810 DATED OCTOBER 16, 1975, ENTITLED "AN ACT GRANTING A FRANCHISE TO OPERATE, CONSTRUCT AND MAINTAIN A FRONTON FOR A BASQUE PELOTA AND SIMILAR GAMES OF SKILL IN THE GREATER MANILA AREA"
I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby order and decree:
Section 1. Section 1 of Presidential Decree No. 810 is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 1. Any provision of law to the contrary notwithstanding, there is hereby granted to the Philippine Jai-Alai and Amusement Corporation, a corporation duly organized and registered under the laws of the Philippines, hereinafter called the grantee or its successors, for a period of twenty-five years from the approval of this Act, extendable for another twenty-five years without the necessity of another franchise, the right, privilege and authority to construct, operate and maintain a court for Basque Pelota and hold or conduct Basque Pelota games therein (including the games of pala, raqueta restapunta, remonte and mano) within the greater Manila area, establish branches thereof for booking purposes therein or in any other place within the Philippines upon prior approval by the President with bettings either directly or by means of electric and/or computerized totalizator."
Section 2. This decree shall take effect immediately.
Done in the City of Manila, this 21st day of April, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and seventy-seven.
