PRESIDENTIAL DECREE No. 728 June 5, 1975
FURTHER AMENDING REPUBLIC ACT NO. 3538, AS AMENDED BY REPUBLIC ACT NO. 4169 AND PRESIDENTIAL DECREE 246, BY PROVIDING FOR THE GRANT OF TAX EXEMPTION AND OTHER PRIVILEGES TO THE INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE OF RURAL RECONSTRUCTION
WHEREAS, the International Institute of Rural Reconstruction, a non-profit, non-stock organization with headquarters in New York, is engaged in a program of job training to increase economic productivity, education to eliminate illiteracy, the improvement of health and environmental sanitation, and the training of the rural people in the assumption of civil responsibility;
WHEREAS, the extension of the International Institute of Rural Reconstruction activities to the Philippines has enhanced the social well-being and economic stability of the country and its people consistent with the existing policies of the Republic;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers in me vested by the Constitution, do hereby decree and order that:
Section 1. Section one of Republic Act No. 3538 as amended, is hereby further amended to include the International Institute of Rural Reconstruction of New York as recipient of the exemptions and privileges provided in the said section.
Section 2. Section 2 of the same Act is hereby amended to include non-Filipino citizens serving on the staff of the International Institute of Rural Reconstruction as beneficiaries of the exemptions and privileges provided in said section.
Section 3. All laws, decrees, orders and regulations inconsistent with the provisions of this decree are hereby repealed or modified accordingly.
Section 4. This Decree shall take effect immediately.
