AN ACT PROVIDING FOR A NEW TIME LIMIT FOR THE FILING OF APPLICATIONS FOR RETIREMENT UNDER ACT NUMBERED TWENTY-FIVE HUNDRED EIGHTY-NINE AND ITS AMENDMENTS.

Be it enacted by the National Assembly of the Philippines:

Section 1. Section one of Act Numbered Twenty-eight hundred and ninety-one, as amended by Act Numbered Thirty-three hundred and sixty, is further amended to read as follows:

"Section 1. For the benefit of the officers and employees at present in the service of the Government of the Philippines, the time limit for the filing of applications for retirement gratuities under Act Numbered Twenty-five hundred and eighty-nine, entitled 'An Act providing for a gratuity by reason of retirement to officers and employees of the Philippine Government who have rendered satisfactory service during six continuous years or more, and for other purposes,' is extended until December thirty-one, nineteen hundred and forty-one.ℒαwρhi৷ The years of continuous, faithful and satisfactory service rendered by the applicant, as provided by said Act, shall, for the purposes of this Act, be computed up to the date on which the applicant files his application within the new time limit, or until December thirty-one, nineteen hundred and forty-one, but not thereafter."

Section 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
