AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES FOR A LIMITED PERIOD TO ABOLISH THE NATIONAL INFORMATION BOARD AND TO EFFECT ADJUSTMENTS OF THE PERSONNEL OF THE DEPARTMENTS OF THE INTERIOR, AGRICULTURE AND COMMERCE, AND LABOR TO CHANGE THE DESIGNATIONS OF ANY OFFICE OR POSITION AND TO CONSOLIDATE ANY ITEM-OR PART OF ITEMS OF APPROPRIATION FOR SALARIES AND WAGES WITH ANY OTHER ITEM OR ITEMS OR PARTS THEREOF IN SAID DEPARTMENTS.
Be it enacted by the National Assembly of the Philippines:
Section 1. The President of the Philippines, when the public interest so demands.is authorized until December thirty-one, nineteen hundred and thirty-nine, by executive order to abolish the National Information Board as a separate entity, transfer all its powers, functions, and duties as well as its personnel, appropriations,and properties to the Department of the!Interior, and effect such adjustments as he may deem necessary of the personnel of the Departments of the Interior, Agriculture and Commerce, and Labor, including any office or position which may have been transferred to said departments from any other department, bureau, or office, to change the designations thereof, except the Secretaries, Undersecretaries, and the Commissioner for Mindanao and Sulu, and to consolidate any,item or part of items of appropriation for salaries and wages with any other item or items or parts thereof in said departments, respectively.ℒαwρhi৷
Any action taken by the President pursuant to this authority shall be reported by him to the National Assembly at the next regular session thereof and shall be valid and subsisting until the National Assembly shall provide otherwise.
Section 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
