AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION ONE OF COMMONWEALTH ACT NUMBERED TWO HUNDRED AND ELEVEN
Be it enacted by the National Assembly of the Philippines:
Section 1. Section one of Commonwealth Act Numbered Two hundred and eleven is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 1. All laborers employed by any corporation, association, person or persons in any public work shall receive a minimum daily wage of one peso, except in the City of Manila where such minimum daily wage shall be one peso and twenty-five centavos: Provided, That the number of hours of labor shall in no case exceed eight daily or forty-eight weekly: And provided, further, That any overtime work rendered shall be paid at the same rate as the regular wage or salary and at least twenty per centum additional. In the case of provincial and municipal public works, the province or municipality may pay lower wages, if the financial conditions of the province or municipality so demand.(awÞhi("
Section 2. The provisions of this Act shall not apply to roads constructed in accordance with Acts approved in the Third Regular Session of the First National Assembly.
Section 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
