AN ACT ABOLISHING- THE MANILA HARBOR BOARD, MAKING THE NECESSARY PROVISIONS FOR THE ADMINISTRATIVE ADJUSTMENTS RESULTING THEREFROM, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR.
Be it enacted by the National Assembly of the Philippines:
Section 1. The Manila Harbor Board, created by Act Numbered Three thousand and two, as amended by Act Numbered Thirty-eight hundred and fifty-one, is hereby abolished and the powers and duties conferred upon it by existing law shall hereafter be exercised by the Bureau of Customs subject to the administrative control and supervision of the Department of Finance.
Section 2. The unexpended balance of the Manila Harbor Board Fund existing on the date of the approval of this Act shall revert to the General Fund of the National Government, and the personnel, equipment, materials, records, and other properties of the said Board shall be transferred to the Bureau of Customs, to be used for the same purposes for which they were originally intended.(awÞhi(
Section 3. For the payment of the salaries of the necessary personnel and for the exercise of the powers and the performance of the duties mentioned in section one hereof, during the remaining- period of the year nineteen hundred and thirty-eight, by the Bureau of Customs, there is appropriated out of the unappropriated portion of the General Fund in the Philippine Treasury the sum of forty-two thousand five hundred pesos, or so much thereof as may be necessary.
Section 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
