AN ACT APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF FIFTY THOUSAND PESOS TO BE EXPENDED UNDER THE DIRECTION OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES FOR THE PURPOSE OF IDENTIFYING AND APPROPRIATELY MARKING THE HISTORIC ANTIQUITIES IN THE PHILIPPINES, OR PRESERVING, OR ACQUIRING THE SAME.

Be it enacted by the National Assembly of the Philippines:

Section 1. There is hereby appropriated out of any funds in the Philippine Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of fifty thousand pesos, or so much thereof as may be necessary, to be expended, under the direction of the President of the Philippines, and through such agency, entity or committee as he may create or designate, for defraying the necessary expenses in connection with the work of identifying, designating, and appropriately marking the historic antiquities abounding in the Philippines, so that the present and future generations may be impressed with the significance and value of the said antiquities.ℒαwρhi৷ The said fund shall also be available for preserving or repairing important antiquities owned by the Government of the Philippines or any of its political subdivisions, and for the acquisition, by purchase or otherwise, of the antiquities owned by private persons. All markers to be utilized as herein provided shall be uniform in form and workmanship and the wordings that shall appear thereon shall in every case be submitted to the President of the Philippines for approval prior to the casting of each marker. Any unexpended balance of the amount hereby appropriated on December thirty-first, nineteen hundred and thirty-seven, shall revert to the general funds of the Philippine Treasury.

Section 2. In the prosecution of its work, the agency, entity or committee created or designated by the President is hereby empowered to secure the cooperation of all public officials and citizens, wherever possible, and such officials shall furnish to the agency, entity or committee, as the case may be, on its request, copies of all records, papers, and information in their possession, relating to any subject under its consideration, free of charge.

Section 3. The necessary fund to carry out the provisions of this Act shall be included yearly in the General Appropriation Act.

Section 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
