AND ACT TO APPROPRIATE THE SUM OF ONE MILLION ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND PESOS, OF WHICH SUM THE AMOUNT OF SIX HUNDRED THOUSAND PESOS IS APPROPRIATED FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE AYUNTAMIENTO BUILDING, AND FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND PESOS AS CONTRIBUTION FROM THE NATIONAL GOVERNMENT TO THE CITY OF MANILA FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF AN ADEQUATE CITY HALL, AND TO ABOLISH THE CONTRIBUTION TO THE GOVERNMENT OF THE SAID CITY AS PROVIDED IN SECTION TWO THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED AND FORTY-TWO OF THE REVISED ADMINISTRATIVE CODE.
Be it enacted by the National Assembly of the Philippines:
Section 1. The sum of one million one hundred thousand pesos is hereby appropriated out of any funds in the Philippines Treasury not otherwise appropriated, of which sum the amount of six hundred thousand pesos is appropriated for the purchase of the Ayuntamiento Building and site in Intramuros, pursuant to the terms and conditions of the agreement between duly authorized officials of the National Government and of the City of Manila, and five hundred thousand pesos as contribution from the National Government to the City of Manila for the construction of an adequate City Hall.
Section 2. Section two thousand four hundred and forty-two of the Revised Administrative Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 2442. Appropriations by Board.- The Board shall make all appropriations for the expenses of the Government of the city.ℒαwρhi৷ Whenever the Board fails to pass an appropriation ordinance for any year before the end of the previous year, the appropriation ordinance for such previous year shall be deemed reenacted, and shall go into effect on the first day of January of the new years as the appropriate ordinance for that year, and such appropriation ordinance shall be reenacted from year to year, and shall be renewed and go into effect on the first day of January of each year, as the appropriation ordinance for that year, until a new appropriation ordinance is duly enacted."
Section 3. This Act shall take effect on January first, nine-teen hundred and thirty-seven.
