An Act Creating the Municipality of Roseller Lim in the Province of Zamboanga Del Sur
Section 1. Barangays Calula, Casacon, Gango, Katipunan, Kulambugan, Mabini, Magsaysay, New Antique, New Sagay, Siawang, Silingan, Surabay, Tilasan, and Tupilac are separated from the Municipality of Ipil, Province of Zamboanga del Sur, and constituted into an independent and distinct municipality of the province which shall be known as the Municipality of Roseller Lim, with the seat of government in the present site of Barangay Surabay.
Section 2. The boundaries of the New Municipality of Roseller Lim shall be:
"Beginning from point marked ‘1’ at the center of the mouth of Gango creek; thence following the shore line southwesterly to Busan Bay to point ‘2’ at the mouth of Tupilac River; thence following Tupilac River going upstream until it reaches the provincial boundary of Zamboanga del Sur and Zamboanga del Norte known as point ‘3’; thence following the provincial boundary of Zamboanga del Sur and Zamboanga del Norte with an approximate distance of 21,000 meters to point ‘4’; thence S 81 degrees 00 minutes E with a distance of 2,350 meters to point ‘5’; thence N 15 degrees 00 minutes E with a distance of 6,500 meters to point ‘6’ at the bank of Gango creek; thence south-westerly following Gango creek downstream with a distance of 1,200 meters to point ‘7’; thence south easterly following Gango creek downstream with approximate distance of 9,800 meters to point ‘1’ which is the point of beginning."
Section 3. After ratification by the majority of the votes cast in a plebiscite to be conducted in the areas affected in the present Municipality of Ipil within the period of one hundred and twenty days after the approval of this Act, the President shall appoint the mayor, vice-mayor and other officials to hold elective positions in the new Municipality of Roseller Lim.
The qualifications, appointments and emoluments of the appointive officials of the new Municipality of Roseller Lim shall be governed by existing laws.1âwphi1
The expenditures for holding the plebiscite shall be chargeable to the local funds.
Section 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
