AN ACT TO DEFINE THE STATUS OF THE JUNIOR COLLEGE OF LIBERAL ARTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF CEBU, CEBU, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR ITS MAINTENANCE AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines
in Legislature assembled and by the authority of the same:

Section 1. The branch College of Liberal Arts of the University of the Philippines, otherwise known as the Junior College of Cebu and located in the municipality of Cebu, Cebu, is hereby declared to be a permanent branch of said University, and the funds for the operation and maintenance thereof shall be provided by the Philippine Legislature. The administration and operation of said College shall continue as heretofore in the hands of the Board of Regents of the University of the Philippines, in accordance with the Organic Law of said University.

Section 2. To carry out the purposes of this Act, the sum of ten thousand pesos is hereby appropriated out of any funds in the Insular Treasury, not otherwise appropriated, for the operating expenses of said branch of the University of the Philippines for the remainder of the fiscal year nineteen hundred and thirty-five. In the succeeding years the operating expenses thereof in the amount of thirty thousand pesos shall be included in the annual appropriation for the University of the Philippines in the General Appropriation Acts.1aшphi1

Section 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
