AN ACT PROHIBITING THE EXPORTATION OF ANTIQUES OF THE PHILIPPINE ISLANDS

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in
Legislature assembled and by the authority of the same:

Section 1. The antiques of the Philippine Islands, such as coins, arms, tools, furniture, decorations, manuscripts, ships and their separate parts, articles of adornment, stones with inscriptions or figures, agricultural implements, sculptures, carvings, and other works or articles of art, industry and commerce shall not be exported from the country without the prior authorization of the Secretary of Agriculture and Natural Resources: Provided, That only such objects as are more than one hundred years old shall be considered antiques.

Section 2. Any person violating this provision or an accomplice thereto shall be liable to a fine not exceeding two thousand five hundred pesos. The confiscation of the objects in question or the payment of their value to the Treasury of the Philippine Islands shall be at the discretion of the Secretary of Agriculture and Natural Resources: Provided, further, That each application to the Secretary of Agriculture and Natural Resources shall be accompanied by a fee of two pesos.1aшphi1

Section 3. This Act shall take effect on its approval.
