AN ACT TO REQUIRE EVERY DEED CONVEYING LAND, PRESENTED FOR REGISTRATION, TO STATE THE NATIONALITY OF THE GRANTEE, AMENDING THE LAND REGISTRATION ACT ACCORDINGLY.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in
Legislature assembled and by the authority of the same:

Section 1. Section fifty-four of Act Numbered Four hundred and ninety-six, known as the Land Registration Act, as amended by Act Numbered Thirty-three hundred, is hereby further amended to read as follows:

"Section 54. Every deed or other voluntary instrument presented for registration shall contain or have indorsed upon it the full name, nationality, place of residence, and post-office address of the grantee or other person acquiring or claiming such interest under such instrument, and every such instrument shall also state whether the grantee is married or unmarried, and, if married, give the name in full of the husband or wife. If the grantee is a corporation or association, the deed must state that such corporation or association has the requirements prescribed by existing law for acquiring public land, in case the land sold or conveyed was originally public land, in accordance with the provisions of Act Numbered Twenty-eight hundred and seventy-four, known as the Public Land Act. Any change in the residence or post-office address of such person shall be indorsed by the register of deeds on the original instrument, on receiving a sworn statement of such change. All names and addresses shall also be entered upon all certificates. Notices and process in relation to registered land in pursuance of this Act may be served upon any person in interest by mailing the same to the address so given, and shall be binding whether such person resides within or without the Philippine Islands, but the court may, in its discretion, require further or other notice to be given in any case, if in its opinion the interests of justice so require."

Section 2. This Act shall take effect on its approval.1aшphi1
