AN ACT APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND PESOS TO DEFRAY THE EXPENSES OF THE PHILIPPINE PARTICIPATION IN THE INTERNATIONAL, COLONIAL AND OVERSEAS EXPOSITION TO BE HELD IN PARIS DURING THE YEAR NINETEEN HUNDRED AND THIRTY-ONE.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in
Legislature assembled and by the authority of the same:

Section 1. A Commissioner and an Assistant Commissioner shall be appointed by the Governor-General, by and with the consent of the Philippine Senate, who, subject to the supervision and control of the Secretary of Commerce and Communications and the Secretary of Agriculture and Natural Resources, shall manage and direct the Philippine participation in the International, Colonial and Overseas Exposition to be held in Paris, France, during the year nineteen hundred and thirty-one. The per diems and traveling expenses of the Commissioner and the Assistant Commissioner shall be fixed by the Secretary of Commerce and Communications and the Secretary of Agriculture and Natural Resources.

Section 2. There is hereby appropriated out of any funds in the Insular Treasury not otherwise appropriated the sum of one hundred thousand pesos or so much thereof as may be necessary which shall be spent by the Commissioner for the collection and purchase of Philippine exhibits and their containers, the cartage, insurance and freight of the same, the display and care of the exhibits including the construction of the necessary building, and the payment of salaries and wages of the necessary personnel and laborers, and such other miscellaneous expenses as may be incidental to the carrying out of the purposes of this Act: Provided, however, That not more than twenty-five per cent of the total amount appropriated herein shall be expended for salaries and wages, per diems and traveling expenses of the personnel herein provided for.1aшphi1

Section 3. This Act shall take effect on its approval.
