[ Act No. 3569, November 26, 1929 ]
AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR A CHECK AND AUDIT BY THE BUREAU OF AUDITS, FROM TIME TO TIME, OF ALL PROPERTY OF THE INSULAR GOVERNMENT AND OF THE PROVINCIAL AND MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENTS, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR SAID PURPOSE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in
Legislature assembled and by the authority of the same:
Section 1. A new section is hereby inserted between sections five hundred and eighty-four and five hundred and eighty-five of the Administrative Code which shall be known as section five hundred and eighty-four A and shall read as follows:
"Section 584-A. Check and audit of property and supplies from time to time.-In addition to the general powers of the Bureau of Audits mentioned in the next preceding section, it shall be the duty of said Bureau to make from time to time a careful and thorough check and audit of all property of the Bureaus and offices, not only of the Insular Government but also of the governments of the provinces, municipalities, and chartered cities. The check and audit provided for in this section shall not be confined to a mere inspection and examination of the vouchers, inventories, and other papers on file in the Bureaus and offices with respect to said property or supplies, but shall include an ocular verification of the existence and condition of said material, and said Bureau shall subsequently make its recommendations in the proper annual report."
Section 2. The sum of fifty thousand pesos is hereby appropriated, out of any funds in the Insular Treasury not otherwise appropriated, which sum shall be placed at the disposal of the Insular Auditor for the payment of the salaries of such additional personnel as may be necessary for the work of the check and audit of property provided for in the next preceding section. In the annual appropriation acts there shall be included, under the head of the Bureau of Audits, the item or items necessary to carry out the purposes of this Act.1aшphi1
Section 3. This Act shall take effect on its approval.
