AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL OF THE PHILIPPINE ISLANDS TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE ATLANTIC, GULF & PACIFIC COMPANY OF MANILA WHEREBY SAID COMPANY MAY RECLAIM A CERTAIN PORTION OF THE FORESHORE OF MANILA BAY, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in
Legislature assembled and by the authority of the same:
Section 1. The Governor-General is hereby authorized and empowered to enter into an agreement on behalf of the Government of the Philippine Islands with the Atlantic, Gulf & Pacific Company of Manila, a corporation duly organized and doing business under the laws of the Philippine Islands, whereby the said corporation shall be authorized, under the terms and conditions hereinafter set forth, to reclaim that portion of the foreshore of Manila Bay described as follows:
Starting at Corner No. 8 in Lot No. 2, Block No. 1801, property of the Atlantic, Gulf & Pacific Company of Manila, at Muelle de la Industria, Manila, Philippine Islands, and extending into Manila Bay due North for 10 meters to new- Corner
No. 1.
Thence N. 88° 48' W. for 287.64 meters to New Corner No. 2.
Thence due South for 118 meters to New Corner No. 3.
Thence due West for 200 meters to New Corner No. 4.
Thence due South for 118 meters to New Corner No. 5.
Thence N. 88° 55' E., 228.20 meters back to the present
lighthouse or Corner 1, Lot 1, Block 1801.
Thence N. 62° 26' W. for 8.69 meters to Corner No. 2,

Section 2. The agreement referred to in the preceding section shall provide the following:
(a) The cost of the reclamation to be solely for the ac count of the Atlantic, Gulf & Pacific Company of Manila, the Government to incur thereby no expense whatever.
(b) The work of reclamation to be done in accordance with plans and specifications to be agreed upon between said Atlantic, Gulf & Pacific Company of Manila and the Director of Public Works subject to the recommendation of the Secretary of Commerce and Communications and the final approval of the Governor-General.
(c) Upon completion of the work of reclamation, that portion of the reclaimed area containing approximately 32,700 square meters and immediately adjoining the Government's present property shall continue to be the property of the Government of the Philippine Islands to be administered in accordance with the provisions of Act Numbered Twenty-eight hundred and seventy-four ("The Public Land Act"), whereas that portion of the reclaimed area containing approximately 26,300 square meters and immediately adjoining the present property of the Atlantic, Gulf & Pacific Company of Manila shall become the property of said corporation: Provided, however, That the Government of the Philippine Islands shall retain ownership of a strip ten meters wide bordering around the reclaimed land for public thoroughfare and police supervision.
Section 3. The Governor-General is hereby empowered and authorized to agree with the Atlantic, Gulf & Pacific Company of Manila on behalf of the Government of the Philippine Islands for the straightening of the lines dividing the respective properties of the Government and the corporation, thereby insuring rectilineal and rectangular dividing lines in conformity with the port of Manila, North and South Harbor, Development Plans approved by the Director of Public Works in December, nineteen hundred and twenty.
Section 4. The Governor-General is hereby empowered and authorized on behalf of the Government of the Philippine Islands to execute such deed and other instruments as may be necessary to carry out the foregoing provisions.
Section 5. When this Act shall have been approved by the President of the United States as provided in section nine of the Act of Congress of August twenty-ninth, nineteen hundred and sixteen, such fact shall be made known by proclamation by the Governor-General of the Philippine Islands, and this Act shall take effect on the date of such proclamation.1
