AN ACT APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF TWENTY-FIVE THOUSAND PESOS, OR SO MUCH THEREOF AS MAY BE NECESSARY, FROM FUNDS IN THE INSULAR TREASURY NOT OTHERWISE APPROPRIATED, TO BE DEVOTED TO THE INCREASE OF DOMESTIC BREEDING AND WORK ANIMALS AND CREATING A BOARD TO DETERMINE THE LOCATION OF STOCK FARMS, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

By authority of the United States, be it enacted by the Philippine Legislature, that:

Section 1. The Director of Agriculture is hereby authorized to increase the number of domestic breeding and work animals now maintained by the Bureau of Agriculture by the purchase of such animals, and the establishment of such stock farms therefor as may be deemed necessary from time to time by the Director of Agriculture, subject to the approval of the Secretary of Public Instruction.

Section 2. For the purpose of improving the live stock of the Archipelago, the Director of Agriculture is hereby likewise authorized to use the said animals, or any of them, for sale or for public breeding work, in accordance with existing rules and regulations, or those which might afterwards be promulgated in the premises.

Section 3. The sum of twenty-five thousand pesos is hereby appropriated, out of any funds in the Insular Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to carry out the provisions of this Act, such sum to be expended for the purchase and maintenance of the animals above mentioned.(awÞhi(

Section 4. For the purpose of determining suitable sites for such stock farms as may be established as herein provided, a committee is hereby created which shall consist of the chairman of the Committee on Agriculture of the Philippine Assembly, the Director of Agriculture, and one other member to be appointed by the Governor-General upon the recommendation of the Secretary of Public Instruction.

Section 5. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
