AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL TO REIMBURSE THE CITY OF MANILA FOR THE SUM PAID BY IT AS CUSTOMS DUTIES ON MATERIAL USED IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW WATER AND SEWER SYSTEMS.(awÞhi(
Whereas the city of Manila has paid the sum of one hundred and sixty-eight thousand one hundred and twenty-eight pesos and twenty-five centavos Philippine currency as customs duties on material imported by said city for use in the construction of the new water supply and sewer systems;
Whereas such material should, pursuant to Act Numbered Thirteen hundred and twenty-three, Philippine Commission, be admitted free of customs duty:
By authority of the United States, be it enacted by the Philippine Legislature, that:
Section 1. The Governor-General is hereby authorized to reimburse the city of Manila, from any existing funds in and the Insular Treasury not otherwise appropriated, in the sum of one hundred and sixty-eight thousand one hundred and twenty-eight pesos and twenty-five centavos paid by said city as customs duties on material used in the construction of the new water supply and sewer systems and place said sum to the credit of the bond issue for the construction of water supply and sewer systems of said city of Manila.
Section 2. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
