AN ACT CHANGING THE NAME OF THE MORO PROVINCE TO THE DEPARTMENT OF MINDANAO AND SULU, PLACING THE PROVINCE OF AGUSAN UNDER THE JURISDICTION AND CONTROL OF THE GOVERNOR OF THE SAID DEPARTMENT, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

By authority of the United States, be it enacted by the Philippine Commission, that:

Section 1. The Moro Province, as constituted at the time of the passage of this Act, shall hereafter be and be known as the Department of Mindanao and Sulu.

Section 2.(awÞhi( The government of the Department of Mindanao and Sulu shall be as provided by Act Numbered Seven hundred and eighty-seven, as amended, providing for the organization of the Moro Province, and as may hereafter be provided by law.

Section 3. The present offices and employments of the Moro Province shall continue and be the offices and employments of the Department of Mindanao and Sulu without change of duties or compensations until otherwise provided by law and administrative action, and the officers and employees of the Moro Province shall act as officers and employees in their said several capacities as officers and employees of the Department of Mindanao and Sulu until otherwise provided by law or administrative action.

Section 4.(awÞhi( The jurisdiction and control heretofore exercised Agusan province. by the Secretary of the Interior over the Province of Agusan in the Island of Mindanao shall hereafter be vested in the governor of the Department of Mindanao and Sulu, without any change in the organization or government thereof, until otherwise provided by law.

Section 5. All Acts and parts of Acts in conflict with the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed.

Section 6. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
