[ Act No. 2258, February 11, 1913 ]
AN ACT AMENDING SECTIONS TWO AND THREE OF ACT NUMBERED EIGHTEEN HUNDRED AND SIXTY-EIGHT, ENTITLED "AN ACT CREATING THE BUREAU OF LABOR, UNDER THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE AND POLICE," BY PROVIDING FOR THE PUNISHMENT OF PERSONS OBSTRUCTING OR RESISTING THE DIRECTOR OF LABOR OR HIS DEPUTIES IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THEIR DUTIES, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
By authority of the United States, be it enacted by the Philippine Legislature, that:
Section 1.(awÞhi( Section two of Act Numbered Eighteen hundred and sixty-eight, entitled "An Act creating the Bureau of Labor, under the Department of Commerce and Police," is hereby amended by adding, after subsection (e) thereof, the following paragraph:
" (f) Any person obstructing or resisting the Director of Labor or his deputies m their compliance with the duties prescribed in subsections (6) and (c) of this section, shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine of not less than fifty pesos nor more than two hundred pesos for each offense."
Section 2. Section three of Act Numbered Eighteen hundred and sixty-eight, is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 3. By and with the approval of the Governor-General, the Director of Labor or his deputies shall have power to administer oaths, to issue subpoenas and subpoenas duces tecum, and to receive and take affidavits and the testimony of witnesses and experts, when making investigations authorized by this Act."
Section 3. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
