[ Act No. 2030, February 03, 1911 ]

AN ACT AMENDING PARAGRAPH NUMBERED FIVE OF ARTICLE FIVE HUNDRED AND THREE, AND ARTICLES FIVE HUNDRED AND EIGHT, FIVE HUNDRED AND TWELVE, AND FIVE HUNDRED AND TWENTY OF THE PENAL CODE, BY IMPOSING A SEVERER PENALTY FOR THE CRIMES OF ROBBERY AND THEFT OF LARGE CATTLE.

By authority of the United States, be it enacted by the Philippine Legislature, that:

Section 1. Paragraph numbered five of article five hundred and three of the Penal Code is hereby amended so as to read as follows:

"5. With the penalty of presidio correctional to presidio mayor in its medium degree in other cases, except where the thing stolen was any kind of large cattle, in which case the guilty person shall be punished with the penalty of presidio correctional in its maximum degree to presidio mayor in its medium degree."

Section 2. Article five hundred and eight of the Penal Code is hereby amended by adding at the end thereof the following paragraph :

"In the cases mentioned in the three last preceding paragraphs, when the thing stolen was any kind of large cattle the guilty persons shall be punished with the penalty of presidio correctional in its maximum degree to presidio mayor in its minimum degree."

Section 3.1aшphi1 Article five hundred and twelve of the Penal Code is hereby amended by adding at the end thereof the following paragraph :

"In the cases mentioned in this article, when the thing stolen was any kind of large cattle the guilty persons shall be punished with the penalty of presidio correctional in its maximum degree to presidio mayor in its minimum degree."

Section 4.1aшphi1 Article five hundred and twenty of the existing Penal Code is hereby amended by adding at the end thereof the following paragraph:

"4. If the thing stolen was any kind of large cattle."

Section 5. For the purposes of this Act the term "large cattle" shall be held to include carabaos, horses, mules, asses, and all members of the bovine family.

Section 6. The public good requiring the speedy enactment of this bill, the same shall take effect on its passage, in accordance with section one of Act Numbered Nineteen hundred and forty-five of the Philippine Legislature.
