AN ACT INCREASING THE NUMBER OF MUNICIPALITIES IN THE PROVINCE OF LA LAGUNA FROM TWENTY TO TWENTY-ONE, BY SEPARATING FROM BIŅAN THE FORMER MUNICIPALITY OF SAN PEDRO TUNASAN, RECONSTITUTING THE LATTER AS A MUNICIPALITY, AND GIVING TO EACH THE TERRITORY WHICH IT COMPRISED PRIOR TO THE PASSAGE OF ACT NUMBERED NINE HUNDRED AND THIRTY-NINE.

By authority of the United States, be it enacted by the Philippines Commission, that:

Section 1. The twenty municipalities of the Province of Laguna. as established by Act Numbered One thousand and eight, shall, in accordance with the provisions of this Act, be increased to twenty-one, by separating the former municipality of San Pedro Tunasan from the present municipality of Biņan. The municipality of Biņan shall consist of the territory of which it was constituted prior to the passage of Act Numbered Nine hundred and thirty-nine, and the municipality of San Pedro Tunasan is hereby reconstituted and shall consist of the territory of which it was constituted prior to the passage of said Act.1aшphi1

Section 2. The municipal election in the reconstituted municipainty of San Pedro Tunasan shall he held at the time of the next regular municipal elections in the Province of La Laguna in accordance with the rules contained in Act Numbered Seven hundred and thirty, as amended by Act Numbered Nine hundred and twenty-eight, but the officers thus elected shall not take oilier nor shall the said reconstituted municipality come into existence until the first Monday in January following said elections. The changes herein provided for shall in no way interfere with the number of officers to be elected or,with the holding in the regular manner of the municipal election in the municipality i operation of this Act the class of sail section four of the Municipal Code.1aшphi1 i case the number of councilors elected shall be prescribed in Act Numbered Fourteen hundred and thirty-three.

Section 3. The public good requiring the speedy enactment of this bill, the passage of the same is hereby expedited in accordance with section two of "An Act prescribing the order of procedure by the Commission in the enactment of laws,"' passed September twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred.

Section 4. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
