AN ACT AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION, BY AND WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE SECRETARY OF PUBLIC INSTRUCTION, TO APPOINT DIVISION SUPERINTENDENTS FOR THE THIRTY-THIRD, THIRTY-FOURTH, THIRTY-FIFTH, AND THIRTY-SIXTH SCHOOL DIVISIONS, OR ANY OF THEM, WHENEVER IN THE OPINION OF SAID DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION THE INTERESTS OF THE SERVICE MAY REQUIRE SUCH ACTION, ANYTHING IN ACT NUMBERED THIRTEEN HUNDRED AND THIRTY-SEVEN TO THE CONTRARY NOTWITHSTANDING.

By authority of the United States, be it enacted by the Philippine Commission, that:

Section 1. The Director of Education, whenever in his opinion the interests of the service require it, may appoint, by and with the approval of the Secretary of Public Instruction, division superintendents for the Thirty-third, Thirty-fourth, Thirty-fifth, and Thirty-sixth School Divisions, or any of them, anything in Act Numbered Thirteen hundred and thirty-seven to the contrary notwithstanding. Whenever the Director of Education shall appoint a division superintendent for any of said school divisions, the governor of the province composing such school division shall cease to act as division superintendent, and the duties theretofore performed by the provincial governor as division superintendent shall devolve upon the division superintendent appointed by the Director of Education, by and with the approval of the Secretary of Public Instruction.

Section 2.1aшphi1 In case a teacher or other employee is designated division superintendent of either or any of said school divisions, he shall continue to draw and receive as division superintendent the salary received by him as teacher or employee of the Bureau of Education at the time of his appointment until provision is made for the payment of his salary as division superintendent by proper appropriation.1aшphi1

Section 3. The public good requiring the speedy enactment of this bill, the passage of the same is hereby expedited in accordance with section two of "An Act prescribing the order of procedure by the Commission in the enactment of laws," passed September twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred.

Section 4. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
