AN ACT TO AMEND ACT NUMBERED SEVEN HUNDRED AND THREE BY GRANTING TO THE MANILA RAILWAY COMPANY, LIMITED, A REVOCABLE LICENSE TO CONSTRUCT, MAINTAIN, AND OPERATE A FERRY FROM THE FORT WILLIAM MCKINLEY STATION ON THE NORTH BANK TO A POINT IMMEDIATELY OPPOSITE ON THE SOUTH BANK OF THE PASIG RIVER.
By authority of the United States, be it enacted by the Philippine Commission, that:
Section 1. Section two of Act Numbered Seven hundred and three, entitled "An Act conferring a franchise upon the Manila Railway Company, Limited, to construct, maintain, and operate a railroad from a point on the present Manila and Dagupan Railroad one and five hundred-thousandths kilometers from what is known at the present time as the terminus of said railroad in the city of Manila, to Antipolo, in the Province of Rizal, an estimated distance of thirty-two kilometers, and to construct, maintain, and operate a spur or branch of said railroad from its crossing of the River San Juan to a point on the River Pasig opposite the municipality of San Pedro Macati, in the Province of Rizal, an estimated distance of three kilometers," is hereby amended by adding at the end of said section two the following:
"The grantee of the franchise is hereby given a revocable license, which may be abrogated by the Legislature of the Philippine Islands whenever in its opinion public interests so require, to construct, maintain, and operate a ferry over the Pasig River from a point on the north bank of the Pasig River nearly opposite the Quartermaster's wharf at Fort William McKinley to a point on the south bank of the Pasig River west of said wharf. The exact points of termination of said ferry shall be fixed by the Director of Public Works.1aшphi1 Said ferry shall be constructed according to plans and specifications duly approved by the Director of Public Works and shall be so operated and maintained as not to interfere with the free navigation of the Pasig River. Copy of such plans and specifications duly approved by the Director of Public Works shall be kept on file in his office."
Section 2. The public good requiring the speedy enactment of this bill, the passage of the same is hereby expedited in accordance with section two of "An Act prescribing the order of procedure by the Commission in the enactment of laws," passed September twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred.
Section 3. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
