AN ACT REMITTING THE COLLECTION OF THE LAND TAX FOR THE YEAR NINETEEN HUNDRED AND FIVE IN CERTAIN MUNICIPALITIES OF THE SUB-PROVINCE OF CATANDUANES, PROVINCE OF ALBAY.
Whereas, due to a violent storm on April twenty-fifth, nineteen hundred and five, the municipalities of Bagamanoc, Caramoran, Pambin, Payo, and Biga, in the subprovince of Catanduanes of the Province of Albay, were almost entirely swept away and all public buildings and churches and over two thousand houses destroyed; and
Whereas, due to the said storm, practically all crops and other sources of income of the inhabitants of said municipalities for the present year have been destroyed: Now, therefore,
By authority of the United States, be it enacted by the Philippine Commission, that:
Section 1. The collection of the land tax within the municipalities of Bagamanoc, Caramoran, Pandan. Payo, and Biga, in the subprovince of Catanduanes of the Province of Albay, is hereby remitted for the year nineteen hundred and five, and the inhabitants of said municipalities are hereby exempted from the payment of said tax for the year nineteen hundred and five1aшphi1.
Section 2. The public good requiring the speedy enactment of this bill, the passage of the same is hereby expedited in accordance with section two of "An Act prescribing the order of procedure by the Commission in the enactment of laws," passed September twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred.
Section 3. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
