[ Act No. 883, September 11, 1903 ]

AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION FOURTEEN OF ACT NUMBERED EIGHTY-TWO, ENTITLED "A GENERAL ACT FOR THE ORGANIZATION OF MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENTS IN THE PHILIPPINE ISLANDS."

By authority of the United States, be it enacted by the Philippine Commission, that:

Section 1.1aшphi1 Section fourteen of Act Numbered Eighty-two, entitled "A general Act for the organization of municipal governments in the Philippine Islands," is hereby amended by adding thereto the following subsection:

"(c) A secretary or a treasurer, or any person temporarily exercising the duties of the office of secretary or treasurer in accordance with law, shall have the same qualifications as those prescribed for a President, a vice-president, and a councilor: Provided, however, That no person elected or appointed to the office of secretary or treasurer, or temporarily designated to discharge the duties thereof, shall be less than twenty-three years of age. The provisions of this subsection shall be retroactive and shall apply to all secretaries or treasurers now in office, as well as to future appointments or elections."

Section 2. The public good requiring the speedy enactment of this bill, the passage of the same is hereby expedited in accordance with section two of "An Act prescribing the order of procedure by the Commission in the enactment of laws," passed September twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred.

Section 3. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
