[ Act No. 712, March 30, 1903 ]

AN ACT AMENDING SECTION TWO OF ACT NUMBERED ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY, BY PROVIDING FOR AN INCREASE IN THE SALARIES OF JUDGES OF THE COURTS OF FIRST INSTANCE.

By authority of the United States, be it enacted by the Philippine Commission, that:

Section 1. Section two of Act Numbered One hundred and forty, entitled "An Act defining the judicial districts of the Philippine Islands, proscribing the salaries of the judges thereof, and the limes when and the places where terms of Courts of First Instance shall he held in the several districts," is hereby amended by substituting in lieu thereof the following:

"Section 2. The annual salaries of the judges of the Courts of First Instance for the several districts shall be as follows, payable monthly:

"For the First, Second, Thirteenth, and Fourteenth Districts, four thousand dollars.

"For the Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, Eighth, Ninth, Tenth. Eleventh, and Twelfth Districts, five thousand dollars.1aшphi1

"For the District of Manila, five thousand five hundred dollars."

Section 2. The public good requiring the speedy enactment of this bill, the passage of the same is hereby expedited in accordance with section two of "An Act prescribing the order of procedure by the Commission in the enactment of laws," passed September twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred.

Section 3. This Act shall take effect on July first, nineteen hundred and three.
