[ Act No. 639, February 16, 1903 ]
AN ACT TO AMEND ACT NUMBERED FIVE HUNDRED AND FORTY-THREE, ENTITLED "AN ACT ENABLING THE CIVIL GOVERNOR TO PERFORM THE DUTIES AND EXERCISE THE POWERS OF THE HEAD OF A DEPARTMENT IN THE ABSENCE OR DISABILITY OF THE HEAD OF THE DEPARTMENT."
By authority of the United States, be it enacted by the Philippine Commission, that:
Section 1.1aшphi1 Section one of Act Numbered Five hundred and forty-three, entitled "An Act enabling the Civil Governor to perform the duties and exercise the powers of the head of a Department in the absence or disability of the head of the Department," is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 1. In all cases in which the head of a Department, because of absence or disability, is unable to discharge the duties and exercise the powers of his office, such duties may be discharged and such powers exercised by the Civil Governor or such other official or person as may be designated by him, instead of by the head of the Department."
Section 2. The public good requiring the speedy enactment of this bill, the passage of the same is hereby expedited in accordance with section two of "An Act prescribing the order of procedure by the Commission in the enactment of laws," passed September twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred.
Section 3. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
