[ Act No. 390, April 17, 1902 ]

AN ACT AMENDING ACT NUMBERED ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY, SO AS TO AUTHORIZE JUDGES OF COURTS OF FIRST INSTANCE TO HOLD SPECIAL TERMS OF THEIR SEVERAL COURTS AT PLACES WITHIN THEIR RESPECTIVE DISTRICTS OTHER THAN THOSE FIXED IN SAID ACT.

By authority of the President of the United States, be it enacted by the United States Philippine Commission, that:

Section 1. Act Numbered One hundred and forty, entitled "An Act defining the judicial districts of the Philippine Islands, prescribing the salaries of the judges thereof, and the times when and the places where terms of Courts of First Instance shall be held in the several districts," is hereby amended so as to authorize special terms of the several Courts of First Instance to be held at other place within the several districts created by said Act whenever in the opinion of the Civil Governor the same may be necessary to the economical and speedy administration of justice, and he is authorized to direct the holding of special terms of said courts, and it shall be the duty of judges of Courts of First Instance to hold said terms of courts as directed by the Civil Governor: Provided, however, That it shall be the duty of the judges of Courts of First Instance to hold the regular terms of their respective courts at the times and places prescribed in said Act Numbered One hundred and forty.1aшphi1

Section 2. The public good requiring the speedy enactment of this bill, the passage of the same is hereby expedited in accordance with section two of "An Act prescribing the order of procedure by the Commission in the enactment of laws," passed September twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred.

Section 3. This Act shall take effect on its passage.
